In Pursuit of Excellence

Dartmouth College Recognizes with Deep Appreciation the Extraordinary Achievements of

D. James Lawrie ’68
2018 Class Digital Content Manager of the Year

Jim, Dartmouth College thanks and congratulates you for your inspiring work over the past year as the Class of 1968 webmaster.

You certainly have been busy, dedicating your time and talent to revamp your website, making it visually appealing and significantly more functional to facilitate communication among your classmates. The photos you have incorporated are vibrant and eye-catching, capturing the love that both your classmates and younger generations of students have for Dartmouth. Navigating the site is intuitive and fun, and you make it easy for occasional and frequent visitors alike to find recent updates.

Another noteworthy innovation you incorporated was Our 50th Reunion in Real Time. During your reunion in Hanover, this section was continuously updated with photos from your Flickr account, enabling classmates in Hanover and beyond to enjoy the special camaraderie the ’68s share with one another. At your 50th, you also took the time to make the Class of 1968’s virtual art show and video recordings of your class’s special interest presentations available on your website. We hope you weren’t too busy to enjoy your time in Hanover!

Your service to your classmates and the College is commendable. The bar you set in 2018 for creativity, attention to detail, and commitment is high indeed. We have no doubt you will continue to innovate and implement new ways for your classmates to stay in touch with each other and with their beloved Dartmouth.

We are most grateful to you and couldn’t be more excited to award you 2018 Class Digital Content Manager of the Year.
