Dartmouth College Recognizes with Deep Appreciation the Extraordinary Achievements of the

Class of 2017
2018 Class of the Year – 25 Years Out and Younger

The Class of 2017 hit the ground running in their transition into the alumni community. In a year filled with adjusting to post-graduation life, settling in to new jobs, and starting graduate work, the class showed remarkable momentum, setting new standards with the launch of their class executive committee. With its ambitious goals and strong focus on communications and class cohesion, this class truly stands out.

The class held 11 mini-reunions in eight cities, intentionally considering how to embrace those who may have felt left out as students. With a dinner in London, a hike in San Francisco, a gathering at the Dartmouth vs. Brown football game, and a house party during Homecoming, the class worked to build strong feelings of camaraderie among classmates.

The class further impressed with its stunning 22-page newsletter, an outstanding website, and a strong social media presence. Notably, it also utilized all avenues to promote class dues participation. The class even developed a unique incentive model through which classmates will receive a five percent discount off their fifth Reunion registration fee for each year dues are paid.

Finally, demonstrating the thoughtfulness and care that are becoming hallmarks of the Class of 2017, the class honors its departed classmates with memorial pages on the class website and is working with Baker-Berry Library to select memorial books that align with those classmates’ unique passions.

For its energy, organization, and inclusiveness, the Class Officers Association Executive Board is honored to recognize the Class of 2017 as a 2018 Class of the Year.
