2013 WILLIAM H. SCHERMAN '34 AWARD
Class Newsletter Editor of the Year
25 or Less Years Out

In the past year, you have raised The Standing Bonfire, the Class of 1992 newsletter, to a new level. Stepping into the newsletter editor role in 2012, you brought new energy to the position by updating the newsletter and making it the focal point of the '92 class communication strategy. You helped revise the layout and design, resulting in a beautiful four-color newsletter that is easy to read and includes many engaging photos of events and classmates. Links to the class website, Facebook group, and mobile phone app make it easy for classmates to stay up to date on class news and mini-reunions.

For the first newsletter of the year, you included a variety of interesting features: a full-page article on basketball player Lakin Roland '16, recipient of funding through the '92 class project; "Bucket List" items from classmates; and photos from a slew of recent mini-reunions. The April issue showcased the activities of classmates on the 92nd day of the year and introduced the "Engage 92" initiative, inviting classmates to participate in a community service project and then share their experiences in the newsletter. Finally, in June, you produced a beautiful 16-page newsletter with the theme "Year in Review." The issue was divided by season, with each section highlighting a season's worth of class activities, events on campus, and news from classmates. Through your dedicated efforts, more than 115 classmates were mentioned in these three newsletters alone.

You graduated from Dartmouth with a major in English, and then attended Portfolio Center in Atlanta for advertising copywriting. In 1995, you were hired by Ogilvy & Mather in New York, working as a copywriter on the IBM worldwide account. From there, you moved on to the Richards Group in Dallas and became the youngest woman ever to serve as creative director of this prestigious advertising agency. After working at the Richards Group, you served as senior vice president, creative director, of Cole Henderson Drake, a boutique agency in Atlanta.

You live in Atlanta with your husband, children Lucy and Macklin, and Jenny, your springer spaniel. When not enjoying your family or editing The Standing Bonfire, you spend your time as a freelance copywriter and creative director.

Cally, your creativity, proactive efforts, and dedication to your class highlight the best of what a newsletter editor can be. It is with the greatest pride that the Class Newsletter Editors Association honors you with the 2013 Class Newsletter Editor of the Year Award.
