In Pursuit of Excellence

Dartmouth College Recognizes with Deep Appreciation the Extraordinary Achievements of

Robert L. Striker ’88
2017 Class Webmaster of the Year

This citation honors the best of Dartmouth class websites by recognizing the Class of 1988 website and its webmaster Bob Striker ’88.

Your website includes all the “best practices” in content and function as recommended by the Class Webmasters Association. And, this is only the foundation of your website. You have gone beyond the minimum recommendations and developed a fully featured class website that is at once beautiful, easily navigable, and an important resource for your classmates.

The Class of 1988 website has a responsive design, allowing users to have the best online experience regardless of their device. Your randomized banner pictures and monthly updates ensure that every visit to the website brings something new. You have continued to make great strides in how classmates are memorialized, combining thoughtful obituaries with photos and remembrances of your classmates on your “In Memoriam” page. Taking advantage of social media tools, you keep your classmates in touch with Hanover by offering an embedded campus Twitter feed on your website’s homepage.

Your work as a webmaster is the continuation of your dedication and commitment to the College. You have given your time to shape the College’s decisions by participating in the Moosilauke Forum, all while running your own successful law practice. From 2005 to 2015, you served as an alumni interviewer for the College, helping to usher in an entire decade of new Dartmouth students. Because of your significant contribution to the Webmasters Association, we were honored to invite and thrilled that you agreed to represent the Class Webmasters as a part of the Alumni Council starting in October 2017. We know you will also be a strong and active participant on the Council’s Student Affairs Committee.

Your class president, Catherine Craighead Briggs ’88 had this to say about this recognition, “I could not be happier about this special honor for Bob. His contributions have made the ’88 class so proud and will be integral as we gear up for our 30th in June 2018.”

Bob, your continued contributions to your class, to the Dartmouth Class Webmasters Association, and to Dartmouth College are greatly appreciated. We congratulate you on being named 2017 Class Webmaster of the Year.
