In Pursuit of Excellence
Dartmouth College Recognizes with Deep Appreciation the Extraordinary Achievements of
Class of 1998
2018 Donald C. Smith '53 Award in Recognition of an Outstanding Mini-Reunion Program – 25 Years Out and Younger
This past year the Class of 1998 showed remarkable commitment to providing ample opportunities for classmates to connect as a means to generate excitement for its upcoming 20th reunion. Rather than pausing the mini-reunion program to place classmates’ sights on the 20th, Class of 1998 leadership created an ambitious and successful schedule of mini-reunion events. This robust schedule of events was broad and included an inaugural international gathering for local classmates at a park in London which was well received and will undoubtedly be repeated.
Additionally, the Class’s commitment to service was inspirational. Your 98th Day of the Year featured a community service theme. Classmates across the country participated in several collaborative experiences while classmates who joined in individual projects shared their endeavors on Facebook. This collective sharing created a very successful 98th Day of the Year mini-reunion.
Finally, rather than sitting back and basking in the glow of a very successful 20th reunion, the Class of 1998 is already planning a full mini-reunion schedule for the upcoming year. Your class’s plans will serve as a model for strong class engagement leading into and after a major reunion.
Congratulations, Class of 1998, on receiving the 2018 Donald C. Smith ’53 Award for an exceptional mini-reunion program. Your program exemplifies the ideals of the Mini-Reunion Chairs Association.
